Have You Seen a Cane Train Yet?

Imagine, zero accidents this cane train season.

Imagine Zero – Resources to Download and Share

Each year during cane crushing season our cane railway network springs to life after being dormant for the past 6 months.

When this happens, it’s important for you to be vigilant around our cane railway lines, so we’ve launched a community awareness campaign to remind you that the season is underway.

Our campaign features television, billboard, digital and radio advertisements, and to help you help us spread the message it also features downloadable resources such as posters for visitor information centres, advertisements for newsletters and magazine publishers, and colouring-in pages for children.

We even have bumper stickers that you can order for your car, truck or ute.

You are welcome to access, download / print, and share these resources via social media, school or community newsletters, and notice board or window displays anytime, and would appreciate your support in spreading the message of road and rail safety.

If you are planning to share, you may like to know that our television advertisement was filmed in and around Gordonvale (20 minutes south of Cairns, Far North Queensland) by our local agency partner BSL/Savi, features employees of MSF Sugar and their family members, and was developed with the support of the Queensland Ambulance Service.

To request any of our resources in additional formats or sizes, or to order a small supply of cane train bumper stickers, please contact us via our Feedback form.

MSF Sugar Cane Train Safety Education Program – Information for Parents and Teachers

To assist you in educating children about cane rail safety, MSF Sugar has developed a Cane Train Safety Program that can be used to build classroom and home activities for children of multiple ages. The program includes four age-appropriate presentations covering cane train safety themes:

  • School Crossings
  • Road Crossings
  • Bridges
  • Residential Areas

The program is designed to enthuse and educate your children or students through video presentations that provide the framework for meaningful discussions in class.

All Cane Train Safety program videos feature content that is appropriate for children from Prep to Year 6.
